About us
Telecommuter.co.uk was born out of the COVID lock-down’s during 2020 and 2021 and was the idea of Stuart Clark and Stephen Rush who have each worked in the technology supply area for over 30 years a piece. The sudden impact of working from home 5 days a week saw many of us struggle to find space to work and equipment to work with. Taking over your child’s gaming set-up only lasted for so long before the disgruntled child made a re-claim on their stolen space. Similarly, working from the dining table, dressing table or coffee table on a small laptop screen was less than satisfactory for everyone involved, but made for interesting meal-times.
Our requirement for good quality equipment and functional accessories became everyone’s requirement – and so Telecommuter was born. The COVID lock downs disappeared and were replaced by Hybrid working. Despite the call from many companies for their workers to return to work, many of us continue to work from home and/or the local coffee shop. Telecommuter is for those people, our people. Those who straddle the fully-kitted office and the not-so-functional spare bedroom.
Our ambition is to only offer products of quality. Products that we have used, abused and understand offered by companies who care about their brand and what is stands for. Of course the age old problem with going for quality is that it can often be accompanied by higher-than-necessary pricing. We work closely with the growing list of brands we represent to gain best pricing and we do not entertain those who seek to exploit our customer via too high prices or lack of after-sales support.
